What started as a small venture grew into a thriving online retail business known for its high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
Building on their success in e-commerce, Clear Prospects Ltd soon expanded it’s manufacturing staff base and launched their own line of microwave heat packs under the WheatyBags® brand name. These heat packs quickly gained popularity for their quality, effectiveness, and comfort and conform to the UK’s voluntary safe heating requirements (BS8433 : 2004). As Michael Robinson says, “we now have a platform online to capitalise on the vast opportunity to sell branded products to all clients and yet still protect and support our Distributor clients through the pricing tiers geared to offer higher discounts to those ordering larger quantities. “It’s certainly not easy at the moment” says Michael. “In fact we’ve faced business challenges since 2017 which was the very peak of our business success”. Since this time all businesses have faced enormous cost rises though in challenging times I invest, mostly into our bespoke software which allows us to launch any number of websites with super speed and ease and load and make available products for sale in a matter of minutes when we focus. We invest in people and marketing; google have certainly benefited over the years” says Michael as they spend well into six-figures every year with the tech giant on advertising. “Most of the team have now been with me over 10 years which is incredible and wonderful” says Michael.
WHAT NEXT? “I’m 57 this year and have always had a great work-life balance, and, even after 25 years I love my job and the staff I have in Blackburn. I’ve too many new product ideas written down, and new web sites with new offerings to slow down just yet though everything so far has been focussed on developing product sales dispatched from the sewing manufacture and packing team in the Blackburn. This year I want to expand the 3rd party offering where we offer other business supplied products through our web platforms and demonstrate how we can run other clients own-brand retail websites in-house. The software, the registered trademarks, the facilities and the staff are where the value in the business lies and you never know, I might sell the business one day or merge with others to quickly expand the sales success and provide a safety net to my staff if I ever retire.”
