Remove the cover and heat the inner wheat bag in a mocrowave for 1 minute (up to 500 watts), 45 seconds (500-700 watts) or 30 seconds (over 750 watts) making sure the turntable is allowed to rotate freely.

Carefully place a small cup of cold water, half full in the microwave whilst heating.

How long should the heat pack be put into the microwave ?

Please click on the “Instructions” tab within this product for heating and cooling instructions.

Is it normal that my heat pack feels damp when microwaving ?

When you first microwave the heat pack the wheat inside may feel damp. This will subside after a few times and is quite normal.  Do not overheat the wheat bag to attempt to dry it out as the product will dry off naturally after a few uses.

What happens if I microwave the heat pack for too long ?

Please be very careful not to overheat the heat pack.  If overheated they can catch fire which is very dangerous.  If overheating occurs, remove from the microwave and put in a safe place while it cools.  Do not use again until the product has returned to room temperature.  If it is giving off a burnt smell, please throw away the product being careful that the product is not burning. A replacement product would then have to be purchased.

How do I chill the Wheat bag in the freezer ?

First wrap the pack in a plastic bag and ensure that it is closed up.  Place the bag in the freezer and allow to chill for about 3 to 4 hours. Remove from the plastic bag and use as you require. If you are experiencing any discomfort from the chilled bag then stop using immediately.

Can I wash my Heat Pack ?

No. Do not place the full wheat bag in the washing machine or get the wheat inside wet as it can be damaging to the product. It is advised that you surface clean with a damp cloth or sponge to clean the product.  If the product becomes wet then it needs to be dried out before the wheat inside germinates and we suggest placing the product in a warm room to dry at room temperature. If the wheat inside does germinate then we do not recommend that you use the wheat bag.

Can I purchase covers that can be washed for my heat pack ?

On some of our products you will see the option to purchase a removeable cover for cleaning.  If this is shown as an option then this cover is removable from the main heat pack and can be washed, with like colours in the washing machine or by hand at a low temperature of 30 to 40 degrees.

Is it possible to warm the heat pack by any way other than microwave ?

No.  Our heat packs are designed to be exclusively heated in a microwave. Any other form of heating could be damaging to the product and also dangerous. Please always follow the guidelines provided with your product.

Do you offer different colours and fabric choices for this heat pack ?

We manufacture the heat packs here in the UK and have all fabric and colour options shown against each product that are available.  If you have a specific request then we will do our best to help you and you can use the Contact Us form at the top of our site to send in your request where we will also send you any appropriate costs.

Can I personalise this heat pack with my name or a slogan ?

Personalisation is available on most of the products that we manufacture here in the UK.  If it is available for this item then the option to personalise the product will be shown on the Order tab where you select the other options.

Are these heat packs suitable for young children ?

No.  We do not recommend that heat packs are given the very young children under the age of 3 years old.  Adult supervision should always be provided with a child over this age and should only every be heated by an adult with great care.

Always retain the packaging for heating and care instructions.

At the time of writing the instructions are as follows;

  • Before use ensure that you remove all the outer packaging and that the fabric is clean and dry.
  • Surface clean regularly with a damp sponge and dry before use.
